Fawn Bluff is more than a luxury lodge to our family. Together with the Homalco First Nation, we are committed to protecting our ecosystem and its inhabitants.

Our Vision of Hospitality

Our approach to hospitality is shaped by the way we travel and the way we welcome friends and family into our homes. Here, we extend that spirit to our guests: a family home founded with care, precision, and symmetry of attention.

Fawn Bluff legacy is not a property but a mission. We hope our kids will become active members of the Homalco community. Today, that vision translates into supporting the Homalco through social, medical, and artistic programs designed to strengthen and sustain the community.

The Guardians of The Bute Inlet – A genuine approach

At Fawn Bluff, our team is the heart of everything we do.

Each person brings warmth and personality to every guest experience. From the moment you arrive, we want you to feel welcomed into our home, not just a place to stay.

Our approach is genuine and personal and we take time to know you, anticipate your needs, and add thoughtful touches that make your stay effortless and meaningful. Hospitality at Fawn Bluff comes from the heart. It’s sincere, comfortable, and offered with a little magic that stays with you long after you leave.

The Guardians of The Bute Inlet – Sustainability

Energy: Fawn Bluff runs on a hybrid system of solar panels, hydroelectric turbines, and diesel generators, with ongoing investment to expand renewables and build a cleaner, more self-sufficient mix.

Water: The lake is the sole source of drinking water, a precious resource that is managed with the utmost care and gratitude.

Responsible sourcing is the first step in proper waste management. Hyper-local cooking and off-season building are dedicated to improve the off-grid autonomy.

Animal Interactions: Whales and bears are natural inhabitants of Bute Inlet. Every effort is made to ensure their presence is respected and undisturbed.

The Homalco First Nation

Long ago, the Xwémalhkwu—”the people of the fast-running waters”—thrived across these ancestral lands. Today, we are honored by our relationship with the Homalco Nation and the welcome extended to our family and guests at Fawn Bluff. We remain deeply grateful for the abundance that surrounds us—the glacial waters, the mountains, and the enduring culture, art, and oral traditions the Homalco generously share with our visitors—stories carried across generations.

In continued partnership with the Homalco Nation, Fawn Bluff contributes to initiatives rooted in respect and renewal:

  • Fawn Bluff dedicates 5% of its sales and 100% of its profits to Homalco-led social and environmental programs.
  • The lodge hosts healing retreats for members of the Homalco Nation, with plans to thoughtfully expand this program for guests in collaboration with the community.
  • In response to the community’s call for healing, Fawn Bluff supports the creation of a Recovery Day Program at the Homalco Health Centre in Campbell River—contributing both financial and human resources to this effort.
  • Cultural collaborations—such as art commissions and canoe journeys—celebrate and sustain Homalco traditions.
  • A shared vision looks ahead to rebuilding longhouses and traditional gathering spaces within ancestral territories, honoring continuity and community
